The Foyer
The foyer (French word for living room) used to be the room where the king used to welcome his guests in the opera intermissions. Although Uruguay never had any king or queen when the theatre was built the Italian style was respected. So, this room was included. Nowadays, apart from the regular audience that can go in any intermission, the foyer is also used for other activities such as cocktails, conferences, lectures, etc. The foyer has one of the two ceilings with heritage value restored to its original aspect with new elements of comfort and security.
